Polar Pen: A "Modular Pen Made from Magnets"

          Have you ever thought of having a magnetic pen that can serve as a toy? If you did, then this pen is for you. Polar pen is a modular pen which is made up of Neodymium magnets. It is composed of ring-shaped magnets which can be put together to form the body of the pen. It can also be used as a stylus thus allowing you to draw using a digital tablet. You can also disintegrate the magnets to create an alternative compass or simply turn it into a toy.

3Doodler: The First 3D Printing Pen

          If you are a doodler and you want to use something new aside from your paper and pencil, then 3Doodler might be the thing you are looking for. Why? It is because 3Doodler allows you to draw three-dimensional figures. 3Doodler is created by Peter Dilworth and Max Bogue, co-founders of Wobbleworks LLC. It is founded in 2011.

          Using 3Doodler is like using a pencil, but this time you can draw above the paper, something your lead pencil can't do. Thus, it became the world's first 3D printing pen. The possibilities are endless. You can create ostriches, butterflies and even a replica of the Eiffel tower. The only limit is your imagination(and the ink, of course).

Falling Slinky in Slow-Motion

          How would a slinky fall down if you let it go after suspending it with your hand? Of course, it would fall down to the ground. But the question is How? 

          This video presents a slinky falling down in slow-mo. In the video, you can see that the slinky's bottom part doesn't fall to the ground immediately. Rather, it suspends in the air for a while. Amazing isn't it? You can also watch the video on Youtube by clicking "here".

"Anti-Gravity" Optical Illusion

Its been a long time before I had my second post for this month. It has been a bit busy the past days. The video above is a very cool illusion. This illusion is created by Koukichi Sugihara. I suggest you watch the video first before you continue reading. The video illustrates how the wooden balls were said to be magnetized to the top of the slope thus breaking the laws of gravity(which is not). It is a kind of a perspective illusion similar to the ones made by Edgar Mueller, only in a form of a model. This illusion is said to be the Best Visual Illusion of the Year 2010. I hope you like it. Bottles at its finest

After a long day of web surfing and all, I found this video. The video is about the so-called Solar Bottle Bulb. It is done by putting the purified water inside the water mixed with bleach. It is then attached into a galvanized iron sheet using a rubber sealant. It is very practical to use inside homes not reached by electricity. The bottle is promoted by isanglitrongliwanag.org, a lighting project of MyShelter Foundation in the Philippines. You can visit the website for more details. This is definitely a good to recycle those PET bottles. 

You'll Surely Cry

The video above is a clip is taken from a 2007 Japanese movie based on a true story. It is a story of a family that was caught in the Niigata Earthquake in 2004. I didn't see the whole movie yet after watching this clip I consider it a good one. I consider this as a story of heroism and courage. I am not going to elaborate on the story so you are going to watch the whole thing. Just enjoy it guys.

UARS Satellite going home.

The Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite or UARS going home and is expected to fall to earth today. The video shows the approximate time and place to where or when it will fall back. The video also shows the estimated velocity as it lower its altitude. I cant add more details about this topic due to a lack of time. Watch the video and enjoy

The largest passenger steamship in the world, the Olympic-class RMS Titanic was owned by the White Star Line and constructed at theHarland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Ireland. After setting sail for New York City on 10 April 1912 with 2,223 people on board, she hit the iceberg four days into the crossing, at 11:40 pm on 14 April 1912, and sank at 2:20 am the following morning. The high casualty rate resulting from the sinking was due in part to the fact that, although complying with the regulations of the time, the ship carried lifeboats for only 1,178 people. A disproportionate number of men died due to the "women and children first" protocol that was enforced by the ship's crew.

Titanic was designed by experienced engineers, using some of the most advanced technologies and extensive safety features of the time. The sinking of a passenger liner on her maiden voyage, the high loss of life and media frenzy over Titanic's famous victims, the legends about the sinking, the resulting changes in maritime law, and the discovery of the wreck have all contributed to the enduring interest in Titanic.
